Video: Sheep in Baby Sign Language

Signing: The sign for sheep looks like you are shearing a sheep. You put your weak hand out and across in front of your body. Then you make your strong hand into shears by extending your index and middle fingers. To perform the sign, open and close your middle and index fingers while moving the shears along your weak hand as if you were operating the shears. It’s as if you’re cutting the wool along the sheep’s back.

Usage: Sheep is a more complex sign, that is great for older babies with a bit more signing experience. Once they learn the sign, babies love the idea of shearing the imaginary sheep.
