Ready
Ready is signed by forming both your hands into the American Sign Language letter 'R'. Next, hold both 'R' hands in front of your body, then make a motion to swing them apart, as if gesturing that you have opened a two-panel door and stepped out into the limelight.
Another sign for ready is to take both 'R' hands, slanted and parallel to each other, from your non-dominant side to the dominant side of your body. This second sign for ready is also the sign for to go.
SIGN USAGE
Ready can be taught to your baby or toddler to show excitement or eagerness to step outside, play a game, or do some parent-child bonding activity together. It is an abstract concept that can be applied to a whole slew of events, so be sparing when teaching it to your baby, and be patient when teaching it to your toddler.

Is “ready?” as a question the same as “ready” as an answer? Is there a modifier, or is the difference just understood?
Hi Mike, “Ready” is signed the same in question and answer form. In general, in ASL, you can sign a question by appending the “question mark” sign to any statement. Also, it helps if your baby hears the upward inflection in your voice when you ask the question. Then, once your baby confirms she’s/he’s ready, sign “ready” again with the downward inflection in your voice. Your baby will pick up on the difference eventually.
