Okay

To do the baby sign for okay, simply sign the ASL letters 'O' and 'K' successively.

Alternatively, your thumb and index finger on your dominant hand meet, making a circle, while the remaining fingers point up slightly separated. This is the same sign used by scuba divers to report an "OK" status, and it is also the ASL sign for the letter 'F'.

Flash Card

Use the okay sign, both to affirm and to ask when engaging with your babies. For example, ask them if the clothes you are suggesting are okay, or if they feel okay after tripping. This sign will prove to be useful for many years to come when you are in a social context and need to provide your child with visual affirmation.

How to sign “it’s ok” (to calm the baby)? Also, do you have an app?

Hi, Shavy. You can sign “okay” as it is taught on this page — then you can do the instinctive things that parents do to reassure their agitated baby, like carrying your baby, giving them a hug, rubbing their back gently, etc.

We don’t have an app, but our website is configured to be optimally viewable on your desktop or mobile.

What’s “okay” in sign language. Do you just finger spell it or is there an actual sign for that?

    ADMIN – Hi December,

The sign for okay is featured on this very page.

How do you sign stop and bad

    ADMIN – Hi Irene,

Stop is signed by placing your dominant hand with the palm towards the person you are addressing. Like the policeman stopping traffic. Bad is signed by placing the fingers of your right hand against your lips. Move your hand down and away. End with your palm facing downward.
