Figure: Sing in Baby Sign Language

Usage: Use the sing sign before you do some singing with your baby. Singing some songs is a favorite activity with babies, even if they can’t sing the exact words. Hearing the same songs over and over again will help your baby learn to speak as well as drive her parents nuts!

    Hi Admin,

Echo what Malin said in regards to how the description is completely different than video. I believe the description describes the sign from ASL (at least in the 3 videos I’ve found online) where they use both hands….one held out while the other goes back and forth. Your video however only uses one hand as it “waves” away the body in an upward motion.

    HI Ilona,

Remember that baby sign language is slightly modified to be better aligned with the motor skills of little ones. We give you the full description but expect for you to adapt based on the age of your baby. Toddlers are often able to do the full ASL sign.

    Hi!
The video and picture are a bit different from the written description of the sign. I noticed that in another word too. How come, are there different ways to sign the same word?
    thanks!

    ADMIN – Hi Malin,

In reviewing the description I don’t see much variation from the actual sign. When in doubt always refer to the video.

Hi, I believe our nanny taught our son something in sign but we can’t figure out what it means.

He cups his right hand and keeps pointing ang pushing his left index finger into his cupped palm.
    Can you help us plz!

    ADMIN – Hi Linda,

You may want to ask the nanny to make sure you are both on the same page. Based on your description he could potentially be signing “out”. Please refer to our dictionary.
