Signing: The sign for paint looks like you are slathering paint on a wall. Take your non-dominant hand and hold it vertically as if it were a wall. Using your dominant hand, move it up and down across the wall as if you were painting.
Usage: For children that love to paint, teach this sign so they learn to associate the sign with the activity. Once the child understand paint in this personal context, you can start to generalize the sign.
