Signing: Sign nice by laying your non-dominant hand flat with your palm up, and wiping across the hand with your dominant hand.
Usage: You can use nice to let you each share when something pleases you. When you see a pleasing flower, or pet a friendly dog you can sign nice. And soon baby will catch on and start sharing what she thinks is nice.
We often use nice as a gentle reminder to prompt a child to share or to stop playing roughly.
This sign also means clean. To sign clean-up, you repeat the sign back-and-forth several times. To avoid confusing baby, we would use this sign for one of the two meanings, but not both.
