We are excited to announce four new Baby Sign Language products. The products, a teaching guide, a dictionary, flash cards, and a wall chart will be available individually or bundled together as a kit.
The Baby Sign Language Guide Book covers everything you need to know about teaching your child how to sign. Beginning with a Quick Start Guide, the book introduces your first ten signs and enables you to start teaching your baby in 30 minutes. As your baby progresses in signing, you can move to more advanced topics such as combining single signs into phrases and transitioning your child from signing to speech.
(128 pages, $19.95)
The Baby Sign Language Dictionary contains more than 600 signs to expand your baby’s vocabulary beyond the basics. Each sign is illustrated with two diagrams showing both the starting and ending position as well as the intermediate motion. In addition to commonly used words, the dictionary includes the alphabet and the numbers 0-10.
(240 pages, $19.95)
The Baby Sign Language Flash Cards include 52 of the most popular signs. In addition to the basics, the flash cards help you teach words such as train and zebra that your baby may not be exposed to on a daily basis. The front of each flash card displays the word and image to your baby. The back of each flash card shows how the sign is performed (a handy reminder for the teacher). Each flash card is made of sturdy paperboard and measures 4″ x 6″. ($24.95)
The Baby Sign Language Wall Chart shows 17 basic signs including eat, drink, and sleep. The wall chart is a useful reference for caregivers such as grandparents, nannies, or babysitters, so they can interpret the basic signs your baby makes when you are away from home. The chart is also a helpful reminder in the early days when you are learning your first signs. The wall chart measures 24″ x 36″. ($9.95)
The Deluxe Baby Sign Language Teaching Kit bundles all four products together for a special price of $39.95 (a $35 discount!).

ADMIN – Hi Cristina,
The kit will indeed be available outside the United States.
I’d like to purchase the Teaching Kit.
I am anxious to receive this kit, please notify me as soon as it is available. It is very close to Mid-December. THANK YOU
i just wanted to know if “baby” sign language had differences from regular “ASL” signs?
ADMIN – Hi Jill,
We use regular ASL (American Sign Language) signs in our program. Some programs have constructed their own signs to make them a little easier for little fingers. But, most programs stick with ASL because there are more resources available, to keep things standard so caregivers and ASL speakers can also sign with your child.
Hi! It’s January 2012. Ist he kit available? Please let me know if it is. I am going to purchase one. Thank you.
ADMIN – Hi Cindy,
The kit is available, you can purchase it in the shop section of the website.
Did I miss this kit when it was made available?
ADMIN – Hi Joe,
The kit was released just before Christmas.
See my review of the kit and pictures of my little girls practicing their flash cards.
Your new resources seem really great, and our son loves signing. I love the videos on your website, it was one of my favorite aspects of your work (I found it much easier to learn from videos instead of just pictures).
Hi I was just wondering when can you start to teach your child sign language. I’ve been considering teaching my son when he gets here and I’d like to get as much information I can on it before he’s here.
ADMIN – Hi Jessica,
It is never too early to start, so you can start whenever you are ready. Most people start between six and nine months, because that is the earliest time when you will see results relatively quickly (around 8 weeks). When you start earlier than six months, you usually have to wait longer for the child to start signing back.
I would love to be notified when this is available to buy. Thank you!
ADMIN – Hi tai,
The baby sign language kit is available through the shop section of our store.
What if it doesn’t work? I read a baby sign language book and have been trying to teach my daughter (now 11 months) “more” for over 2 months. She claps instead. I try to correct her but it doesn’t work. She keeps clapping or grabs my hands and pushes them together to sign. I really want to sign with her but I’m not sure she’s capable.
ADMIN – Hi Carrie,
Sometimes is takes some children a little longer than others for the concept of signing to click. Just as some kids will take their first steps earlier than others, it is just a matter of when their language window starts to open. I wouldn’t be concerned after two months.
If the more sign is particularly confusing for her, because it is so close to clapping, then change the sign or focus on some other starter signs such as eat, milk, water, mom, or dad.
Thank you for your response! I have purchased the kit and can’t wait until it arrives! I’ve been showing my daughter “milk” for a week and I think she signed it today. I have renewed hope and look forward to expanding our signing vocabulary! I really like the videos on your site.
Again, can’t wait to get my materials and get started!
Thanks!
Carrie
